Dear friends,
As the end of the year approaches, it’s a common practice to look to the year ahead and think about what we hope to do differently, what’s working, and perhaps make some resolutions. In regards to my chosen home, Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, I can see that we are at an inflection point. A number of projects and trends in our village are at the edge of breaking through to the next level and bearing fruit from years of work. In particular, our beloved inn, the Milkweed Mercantile, finally has the chance to realize its full potential.
It’s important to acknowledge that getting to this point has involved a lot of messiness, failure, hard choices, uncertainties and hurt feelings. These are inevitable companions to a challenging but beautiful life in community. However, in as plain of terms as I can muster, here’s the truth: Dancing Rabbit is growing and making meaningful progress on implementing radically sustainable and resilient systems and ways of living. To maintain this momentum, and increase our reach and influence, your support really makes a difference.
And TRIPLE your impact! All donations up to $9,250 will be matched, twofold.* These matching donations are the most we have ever been challenged to raise, making this a rare opportunity to create a powerful and lasting impact with your money.
So far we’ve raised $3,984.
Additionally, half of the total money raised, including matches, will be used to make some crucial upgrades to the Milkweed Mercantile’s heating systems, allowing us to host guests and house Rabbits year round and opening the door to many possibilities.
*Matching donors: The Hothem family, Nathan Brown, Sue Ann Kortkamp, Rebecca Prosser, and Ed and Wendy Pultz. Thank you!
In community,
Eric
